Implementing the SDGs in a Changing World: Localization, Inclusiveness, and Investing for Impact
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development can only be achieved if we transform its global aspirational language into local realities. The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) contained in the agenda are ambitious and require an unprecedented mobilization of resources, partnerships, and knowledge at the global, national, and subnational levels. The SDGs are inclusive and therefore its critical we think locally in our aim to ensure vulnerable groups are not left behind. We are now three years into implementation and it’s time to take stock of how implementation of the 2030 Agenda can be accelerated by making better use of local practices and how global events influence action and progress on its implementation. The seminar aims to encourage dialogue and action on the challenges faced by localities in implementing the SDGs, particularly in light of an ever changing national and global economic environment.
