Follow the event on Twitter #TYDWBG2015

With the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) set to expire in just over a year, consultations and negotiations on the next development agenda are well underway. Founded on concepts of environmental, social, and economic sustainability, the new agenda aims to be more ambitious and transformative than its predecessor. Achieving these goals will require financing, data, and implementation that go beyond current resources and we are committing future generations to a sustainable and inclusive path for development. Therefore, in order to be successful, the youth, the newest generation of development professionals, must be part of the conversation.

Hosted jointly by Mahmoud Mohieldin, the World Bank Group (WBG) Corporate Secretary and President's Special Envoy, and the WBG Youth2Youth Community, the event seeks to engage young development professionals on the Post-2015 agenda and its importance for the youth of today. Through an engaging presentation and discussion the event will highlight their active role and encourage open dialogue and action between all involved. In addition, the event will host the launch of a joint competition by the World Bank Group and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, to seek innovative financing solutions to development issues by youth development professionals.
