Patricia Fernandes is a Lead Senior Social Development Specialist in the South Asia Region. Before joining SAR Patricia has held various positions in the Africa and in East Asia and the Pacific regions. For her most recent assignment she was based in Yangon leading Community Driven Development operations and analytical work on social inclusion and gender equality. Her recent work has included Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention and Response interventions in conflict affected settings in the Africa Region. Patricia has worked on a broad range of social development issues, including gender equality, social inclusion, social impact analysis of disasters and conflict sensitive development. Patricia has been engaged in cross-GP collaborations with the Health GP and with the Gender Group on GBV and mental health particularly in FCV contexts. Before joining the World Bank Patricia worked as a Child Protection Specialist with UNICEF.
