Since joining Tanger Med in 2005, Loubna Ghaleb has left her mark on the remarkable evolution of this port complex, now recognized as the leading port infrastructure in the Mediterranean and Africa, and ranked 19th worldwide in 2024.

Throughout her career, Loubna Ghaleb has held key strategic positions, including Concessions and Partnerships Manager, Director of Strategy and Development, and member of the Executive Board since 2020. She has been at the heart of Tanger Med’s major strategic transformations, contributing to significant projects such as:

  • The concessioning of port terminals, attracting international operators like APMT & Maersk, CMA CGM, and Hapag Lloyd
  • Strategic negotiations for the establishment of the Renault factory in Tangier, reinforcing Morocco’s position on the global industrial map.
  • Managing structured financing, mobilizing funds from national and international banks to support major port investments.
  • Complex strategic operations, including the acquisition of 35% of Marsa Maroc and the merger of subsidiaries TMPA and TM2 SA.

For Loubna Ghaleb, Tanger Med has always placed a strong emphasis on promoting the role of women by entrusting them with positions of responsibility. Even in fields traditionally dominated by men, many women now hold key roles in areas such as port engineering, harbor master operations, and port and logistics management. Through their skills and qualifications, these women have successfully overcome gender stereotypes and cultural barriers, rising to leadership positions in industries historically led by men.

She firmly states, "Real change will occur when women have the same opportunities as men to access positions of responsibility, based solely on their skills and merit, without resorting to any form of positive discrimination." She emphasizes that excellence and professionalism should remain the exclusive criteria for attaining leadership roles.

For her, the future lies in achieving true gender parity, where women will play a central role in decision-making processes and in driving economic and social development. She highlights the significant progress Morocco has made since the 2000s, particularly through institutional measures that have strengthened gender equality and promoted women's representation. These advancements, coupled with ongoing efforts, including the revision of the Moudawana (Moroccan Family Code), are poised to further reinforce gender equality and pave the way for a future where women hold strategic leadership positions, thereby contributing to the country's transformation.
