Jorge has more than 20 years of professional experience in private sector development performing strategic and investment functions with development finance institutions, impact investors, retail banks, and regulators. He has hands on experience in the design and execution of strategies, products, and projects for sectors such MSME, Women-owned enterprises, green finance, education and housing. While in IFC’s Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) region he led and co-led the commitment of more than US$600 million in investment projects and supervised a portfolio of more than US$400 million. Most recently in IFC’s Banking on Women team he has played an important role in the advancement of IFC’s gender finance program in Africa, Asia and LAC.
Jorge has a Master of Science in Project Analysis, Finance and Investments from the University of York in the UK and a Master’s Degree in Microfinance and Social Development from Universidad de Alcala in Spain.
