The Private Sector’s Role in Combating Climate Change in Water
- ABOUT THE EVENT
Water is an essential resource touching almost all aspects of development and plays a central role in climate change. Yet despite its critical value, water resources are not managed sustainably, and the sector suffers from significant underinvestment. If we are to meet the SDG 6 of universal access to water and sanitation while also combating climate change, private sector financing and expertise need to scale up. Hosted by IFC, this discussion at COP28 will lay out the way forward.

LEARNING RESOURCES
Join us for a series of live events on climate change.
The World Bank Group is redoubling efforts to end poverty on a livable planet. A safer climate means that all people – but especially women and young people – have a decent quality of life on a planet with clean air, clean water, and enough to eat, and are less vulnerable to climate impacts.
Join us live in Dubai at the World Bank Group Pavilion, in partnership with the IMF and the FT, and online. Follow the conversation with #LivablePlanet.
