April 28: Spring Meetings Conclusion & Highlights
Spring Meetings 2025 concluded with a call to action from Chairwoman Elisabeth Svantesson, urging countries to unlock private sector potential to create more and better jobs. The Meetings emphasized the urgency of accelerating reforms to build a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable global economy.
April 25: Mobilizing Private Capital
Building on the week’s focus on jobs, Day 5 highlighted the role of smarter policies in driving private sector growth. Public finance alone isn’t enough—mobilizing private capital is essential. IFC and MIGA Guarantees are helping unlock investment, build markets, and create jobs. Strong governance and well-designed policies create environments where businesses can thrive. Knowledge products like the Business Ready report point to key reforms, from fixing land registries to improving access to finance.
April 24: Strengthening Governance and Policies
Day 4 explored how strong governance and knowledge-sharing can accelerate development. Participants visited the World Bank Group Academy to see how countries are connected with practical solutions that turn expertise into impact. As a Knowledge Bank, we help identify opportunities for private sector growth and remove critical barriers through evidence-based decision-making.
April 23: Regional Economic Updates
On Day 3, attention turned to how investments in health, education, skills, infrastructure, and clean resources drive growth. Through IBRD and IDA, the World Bank Group helps countries link financing to tangible results. April 23 also marked the launch of the World Bank’s Regional Economic Updates, offering insights into macro trends across Africa, East Asia and the Pacific, Europe and Central Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, the Middle East and North Africa, and South Asia.
April 22: Jobs—The Path to Prosperity
Day 2 focused on laying the groundwork for job creation. Thousands joined the flagship event on Jobs where Ajay Banga, entrepreneurs, and global experts discussed ways to create more and better jobs—and ensure young people can access decent work.
April 21: Data360 & Global Parliamentary Forum
The Spring Meetings opened with the Global Parliamentary Forum, where participants explored the World Bank’s jobs agenda and visited exhibits like the Data Playground. Guests browsed data from the new World Bank Data360 portal, which provides access to over 300 million data points from more than 200 economies. Designed to inform policy for inclusive and sustainable growth, Data360 offers powerful tools for search, analysis, and visualization, supporting evidence-based decision-making for development.
