Yves Daccord has served as Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)since 2010. He joined ICRC in 1992, and has also served as Director of Communications and Deputy Head of the Division for the Promotion of International Humanitarian Law. In 2015, then-WHO Director General Margaret Chan appointed Daccord as a member of the Advisory Group on Reform of WHO’s Work in Outbreaks and Emergencies with Health and Humanitarian Consequences. Prior to joining ICRC, Daccord was a TV journalist at the Télévision Suisse Romande in Geneva. He earned a B.A. in political science from the University of Geneva.
