Ursula Müller is the German Executive Director to the Board of Executive Directors at the World Bank Group.
Most recently she served as head of the Directorate General for Policy Issues and Political Governance of Bilateral Development Cooperation in the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
In addition, Ursula has enjoyed a career with the German Federal Foreign Office spanning more than 30 years. She has been appointed to a wide range of positions within the diplomatic field including deputy director for the Department of External Economic Promotion and Sustainable Development.
Prior to this, she served as head of division of the humanitarian task force in the United Nations Department and minister counsellor in the Political Department of the German Embassy in Washington, D.C., from 2001 to 2006.
She has also been appointed as the women’s representative in the Department of Human Resources and Corporate Services.
Ursula has also served in other positions and service stations including the Southeast Asia Desk, the Political Department of the German Embassy in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and as vice-consul in the German Consulate-General in Sydney, Australia.
She began her professional career with the German Federal Foreign Office in 1980. Ursula holds master degrees in Economics and Public Administration.
