Uzoamaka Nwamarah is an Adviser on Climate Change at the Commonwealth Secretariat, where she is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical oversight on the Commonwealth NDC Programme, along with gender and youth mainstreaming. A UK national born in Nigeria, she has worked in the sustainable development over the last 10 years with a strong grounding in climate change adaptation and mitigation and a focus on international climate change policy and finance. She advices and supports governments in designing and implementing low carbon and climate resilient strategies, programmes and projects across key economic sectors (energy, transport, agriculture, water and health) together with climate finance resource mobilization.

She holds an MSc Environmental Technology from Imperial College London. One of her more recent recognitions is the finalist in the 2021 Black British Business Awards (BBBAwards) in the STEM (science, tech, engineering and maths) Senior Leader category.
