Deputy Governor Turalay Kenç received a Ph.D. in economics at the University of York, England. He worked at several UK universities including the University of Cambridge, Birkbeck College London, the University of Durham, Imperial College London at different capacities. Before joining the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) as a Board Member in April 2009, he was Professor of Finance at the Bradford University School of Management. Professor Kenç, who was appointed a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the CBRT on 7 May 2009, has been acting as Deputy Governor of the CBRT since 29 April 2011.
