President of UBS Asset Management and UBS Group Executive Board Lead for the firm’s Sustainability and Impact efforts. In March 2023, UBS announced the proposed acquisition of Credit Suisse (CS). In May 2023, the firm named the new leadership team for the combined organization, combining Suni as President of UBS AM and GEB Lead for Sustainability and Impact. UBS completed the CS acquisition on 12 June 2023, creating the 11th largest asset manager globally, and the third largest in Europe, with USD 1.6 trn in AuM. UBS AM offers world-class investment capabilities and stylesacross all major traditional and alternative asset classes, as well as platform solutions and advisory support. It is recognized for its innovation and thought leadership in key areas, such as sustainable and impact investing, and as a leading foreign manager in China. Suni is Chair of UBS AM's Executive Committee and Risk Committee. She joined the firm as UBS AM's Head of Investments in 2017 where she was responsible for the investment teams for traditional asset classes, indexed and active, and UBS O'Connor, the multi strategy hedge fund. As head of the Group’s Sustainability and Impact organization, Suni is responsible for driving the firm’s sustainability agenda and efforts to deliver on its Net Zero commitments. She has oversight of the Chief Sustainability Office, responsible for sustainability strategy, external engagement and corporate responsibility across UBS, and theOffice of Social Impact that encompasses the Group’s philanthropic services, The Optimus Foundation, which she chairs, and community affairs activities. Before joining UBS, Suni worked at Citigroup for almost 25years, most recently as the Regional Head of Markets for North America. Suni was also a member of Citi's Pension PlanInvestment Committee and a Director on the Board of Citibank Canada. During her earlier career, Suni was Citi's Global Head of Fixed Income Research (2004-2008), was the Co-Head of Debt Capital Markets, and served as CEO of The Yield Book Inc., an analytics company and wholly-owned subsidiary of Citigroup. She started her Wall Street career at Merrill Lynch & Co. in Investment Banking. Suni is a co-chair of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Investing. She serves on the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s Board of Directors and is a founding sponsor of Veterans on Wall Street, a coalition of major financial services firms established in 2010 to engage the broader industry in efforts to support our transitioning veterans. She is involved inmany organizations raising awareness and support for the US veteran community, including working with First Lady Michelle Obama’s Joining Forces initiative. For those efforts Ms. Harford received the Outstanding Civilian Service Award from the US Army. Suni is GEB sponsor of and actively involved in UBS’s Americas region Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council and is a senior sponsor of UBS's women's networking and mentorship organization, All Bar None. She has served on the Board of Directors of The Forte Foundation, a US non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of women leaders in business. Suni has held seats on the board of several industry associations, including the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation and Securities Industry Financial Management Association. She is a regular contributor to industry conferences and keynotes, was named Investment Week’s ‘2020 International Investment Woman of the Year’, named one of American Banker’s Top 25 Women in Finance for the eleventh year in 2022, and has been honored in Barron’s ‘Top 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance’ since the list’s inception in 2020.
