Olavo Avelino Garcia Correia is Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance in Cabo Verde. Previously he was a guest professor of economics at the Higher Institute of Legal and Social Sciences. He has been vice-president of the Movement for Democracy since 2013 and is also president of the Integral Football Preparation School Foundation. He is also a member of the Council of the Republic and administrator of Grupo Tecnicil, having served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tecnicil Indústria. He has also served as a member of the Bank of Cabo Verde Advisory Board, the managing director of the Banco Montepio Geral Cabo Verde, Governor of the Bank of Cabo Verde, Alternate Governor of Cape Verde with the International Monetary Fund, Assistant Secretary of State for the Minister Finance, Treasury Director General for the Bank of Cabo Verde Department of Markets and Statistics and Economic Studies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Berlin, Germany and a postgraduate degree in business management from Bavaria, Germany. Read more
