Nadeem Ahmed is a serial entrepreneur. Under his leadership, Global Tea and Commodities Ltd has grown from a small startup in India in 1991 to one of the fastest growing, integrated tea, coffee and macadamia nut companies globally with over 4,500 people today in the UK, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Somalia, Sudan among others. It is considered one of the UK’s largest independent tea company and one of the largest macadamia nuts producer in Africa. Kericho Gold and Baraka Chai in Kenya are now the second largest packers of tea in Africa and Global Tea’s export processing zone in Kenya, a first in the African tea industry, is now the largest exporter of value-added tea from Kenya. Global Tea’s coffee and macadamia nut plantations in Malawi and processing factories export up to Japan, USA, Europe, China, Taiwan, Korea. Global Tea received in 2005 the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development for its social and environmental standards.
