Ms. Farid is responsible for developing a strategic framework for the Social Protection and Subsidy reform programs that ensure the social and financial impact of implementing these policies, working on conducting Actuarial valuations with extensive experience in Health Insurance strategies. She was also assigned as Subject Matter Expert for Social Protection, and for Universal Health Insurance.
She has been working on the new Universal Health Insurance Law and was a member of the National Committee for drafting the Law. She was also responsible for carrying out the actuarial study on the financial impact and sustainability of the new SHI system. Currently she’s leading the project at the Ministry of Finance and a key player in the New Universal Health Insurance Authority as well, along with many technical committees established for the implementation of the system and the transition period arrangements. Ms. Farid is holding a M.Sc. Degree in Applied Actuarial Science (Kent University, UK) and prior to joining the government she has worked in the private insurance sector and taught Insurance and Statistics at the American University in Cairo.
