Juan Ignacio has a solid track record in territorial development and sustainability. He holds a PhD in Management, Finance, and Accounting from Carlo Cattaneo University – LIUC in Varese, Italy; a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of London, UK; and a postgraduate diploma in Development and International Relations from the same university, where he received the Achievement Award. He also completed a postgraduate program in Economics and Management for Inclusion at the Faculty of Economic Sciences and Administration (FCEA) of the University of the Republic (Udelar), specializing in Territorial Development. In academia, he has conducted research at Johannes Kepler University in Austria, the Green Innovation Hub in Italy, and the Institute of Economics at the FCEA of Udelar. His professional experience spans a wide range of academic and development initiatives focused on territorial development, sustainability, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and the social and solidarity economy (SSE). He has worked extensively with associative and cooperative enterprises, contributing to the design, implementation, and evaluation of production-related policies.
