Johannes Hoogeveen is Global Lead for Fragile and Conflict Affected States. He also coordinates the World Bank’s Poverty and Equity Program for the Sahel and Central Africa. Hans joined the World Bank in 2003 as an economist in the Social Protection Group. He has since held various positions, his most recent assignment being Practice Manager for the Poverty and Equity team for the Middle East and North Africa. A national from the Netherlands, Hans studied economics in Amsterdam. He published in various applied economic journals and edited various books. His current research interests focus on refugee economic inclusion.
