Johann Saathoff, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is a German politician from the Social Democratic Party (SPD). He has been a member of the Bundestag since 2013 and currently serves as Parliamentary State Secretary in the BMZ. With previous roles include Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of the Interior (2021-2025), Federal Ministry of Justice (2024-2025), Coordinator for Inter-Societal Cooperation with Russia, Central Asia, and Eastern Partnership Countries, spokesperson for economic policy and energy policy coordinator for the SPD parliamentary group (2015-2021) he brings extensive experience in governance, international cooperation and regional development promoting renewable energy.
