João Paulo de Resende graduated with a PhD in economics from IE/UFRJ (2018), with a thesis on the quantitative assessment of concentration control in the fuel sector. He also has a master's degree in economics from CEDEPLAR/UFMG (2007), with a dissertation on the effects of income inequality on crime. He has been a Specialist in Public Policies and Government Management since 2005 and has held several positions in the federal public administration. He was a member of the Court of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (2015 -2019), Director of Concessions and PPPs at the Ministry of Planning (2012 – 2015), and economic advisor at the Ministry of Mines and Energy (2007 – 2012). He was also a consultant on the economics of regulation and competition at the World Bank (2020 – 2022) and professor of economic regulation at ENAP (2010 – 2021). Read more
