Appointed in August 2021, Harifidy Janset Ramilison is the Government of Madagascar’s Minister of Agriculture and Livestock (MINAE). He is a rural engineer by training and has over 34 years of experience in the agriculture sector across the public and private sectors, both locally and at the international level. Among notables are his 21 years as an international consultant for the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), 11 years for CARD/AGRA-Alliance and nine years as a project coordinator for the Mandrare Upper Basin Development Project funded by IFAD. In 2007, he also served as Vice Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fishery, making him one of the few politicians to be included in two different governments coming from opposing political parties in Madagascar.
