Hanna Birna Kristjánsdóttir is Chair of the Executive Board of Women Political Leaders; former Icelandic Minister of the Interior (2013-14) and former Mayor of Reykjavik (2008-10) where she previously served on the City Council. Vice Chairman of the Independence Party since 2013. In 2015 she held the post of Chair of the Palimentary Foreign Affairs Committee. She has a degree in Political Science from the University of Iceland and a master’s in international and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh.
