Gillian Cerbu is a Senior Climate Change Specialist in the Climate Change Group in the World Bank. In her current role she advises on priority setting and grant approval as part of the Climate Support Facility, specifically on the Green Recovery Initiative and its associated Whole of Economy Program. She has extensive experience leading lending operations and analytical work with a strong focus on climate change mitigation and adaptation, and their intersection with land use and land-use change; notably in the development of climate MRV systems, wood energy, REDD+, forest governance, forestry and sustainable land management, in Europe & Central Asia, West & Central Africa and Latin America. Gillian holds a PhD and M.Sc. in Forestry from Albert-Ludwigs Universität Freiburg and B.A. from the University of Toronto in Urban Studies and Forest Conservation.
