Gavin Wilson has been the CEO of IFC Asset Management Company LLC (AMC) since its founding, in 2009. A wholly-owned subsidiary of IFC, AMC raises and manages third-party capital, investing in IFC transactions in developing countries. It currently manages $8.7 billion across 11 funds, including one fund of funds.
Previously, Mr. Wilson was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs, which he joined in 1996. He co-headed Goldman’s EMEA Industrials Group and was previously head of the firm's New Markets investment banking execution team, focused on the emerging markets of EMEA. His transaction experience covers principal investing, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, privatizations, joint ventures, structured finance, corporate restructuring, and debt, equity and hybrid issuance. He has worked on assignments in more than 60 countries.
Mr. Wilson began his career at McKinsey and Company in London. He joined the World Bank Group as a Young Professional in 1988, working in the Bank’s Africa Region and in IFC's investment and advisory businesses, including a stint as IFC's Resident Representative in Poland. He subsequently served as a Special Advisor at the Bank of England before joining Goldman Sachs.
Mr. Wilson is British and holds a BA from the University of Oxford and an MBA from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar.
