Eric Asomani Asante is an ICT teacher, curriculum leader, and school chaplain at Naylor SDA Basic School in the Tema metropolis of Ghana. He holds a Diploma from the Seventh-Day Adventist College of Education and has been a full-time teacher with the Ghana Education Service since 2008. After a year at Ashaley Botwe Basic School, he transferred to Naylor SDA Basic School, where he teaches ICT under challenging conditions, including student absenteeism and lack of Internet connectivity.
Eric is the author and publisher of the "Best Time" computing textbooks for primary and junior high schools. In 2020, he was named Ghana’s Most Outstanding Teacher by the National Teaching Council’s "Ghana Teacher Prize." In 2022, he won the National Best STEM Teacher award. Eric was also a finalist for the 2023 Global Teacher Prize.
He holds an MPhil in Curriculum Studies with Distinction from Valley View University and actively participates in national curriculum development programs for ICT education in Ghana.
