Aziz Atamanov is a Senior Economist in the Poverty Global Practice Group of the World Bank. He has been working on poverty measurement, poverty, gender, distributional and labor analysis in many countries including Lebanon, Iran, Jordan, Yemen, the Palestinian territories, Belarus, Moldova, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey. He also established and co-led the Middle East and North African Team for Statistical Development. Currently he leads the poverty program in Uganda. He holds Ph.D. Degree in Development Economics from Maastricht University.
