Ali Ahmad is a Senior Energy Specialist at the World Bank's Middle East and North Africa Department, where he leads the Bank's Energy Advisory in the GCC and its investment program in Yemen. Prior to joining the Bank, Ali held multiple positions in academia, first as Director of the Energy Policy Program at the American University of Beirut and later as a research scholar at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Ali holds a PhD in Engineering from Cambridge University and is the author of over 25 peer-reviewed publications on energy policy and economics in top tier journals.
