Ali Ahmad is a Climate Change Specialist at the World Bank's Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Sustainable Development Department. So far, Ali's career at the Bank has focused on issues at the intersection of energy, climate change and development, with focus on MENA FCV contexts. Prior to joining the World Bank, Ali was a research fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government (HKS), where he worked on assessing the impacts of climate change on energy systems’ resilience and economics, and the political economy of energy transition in the MENA region. A Lebanese national, Ali has a first degree in Physics from the Lebanese University, and a PhD in Engineering from Cambridge University.
