Alain Kabundi is a Senior Economist in the Office of the Chief Economist of the Africa Region of the World Bank. He joined the Bank in 2018 and had worked at the Prospects Group after spending four years at the Prospects Group. Prior to joining the World Bank, he was lead economist in the research department of the South African Reserve Bank. Alain Kabundi is an associate editor of the South African Journal of Economics. He was previously professor of economics at the University of Johannesburg. He has published in many peer-reviewed journals such as Empirical Economics, International Journal of Central Banking, International Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Forecasting, Journal of Housing Economics, and Journal of Policy Modeling. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Alain Kabundi is from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
