Ahmed Hanaa joined IFC in August 2010 as a trade specialist. He currently serves as IFC Middle East & Pakistan Trade Lead responsible for the trade business development and portfolio management. He started his career with Citi Bank as a Trade Finance associate in 1999 and has thereon successfully risen through the ranks till heading Citibank Egypt’s trade finance product management focusing on structured trade finance deals to corporates and financial institutions. He won Citi’s Global Trade Award in 2008 (World Star of Trade). In 2009, he was promoted to Treasury & Trade Solutions Product Head, delivering innovative solutions in trade and cash management as well as implementing online trade system. During his last year at Citi, he was heading the Cash Management department, where he was instrumental in scaling up the business.
