Abdouraouf Gnon-Konde took office as the Director of the Regional Bureau of UNHCR for West and Central Africa on July 1, 2023. Previously, Mr. Gnon-Konde served as the Resident Representative of UNHCR in Burkina Faso starting April 1, 2021. From December 23, 2022, to June 30, 2023, he also served as Acting Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System in Burkina Faso and Humanitarian Coordinator. He notably held the position of Head of Section (covering all UNHCR operations globally) for European Affairs and resource mobilization at the UNHCR Regional Representation in Brussels, Belgium. He also worked as Deputy Resident Representative of UNHCR in various operations in Africa, notably in Côte d'Ivoire, Niger, and Chad, after serving as Regional Administrator in charge of Protection and Registration at the UNHCR Regional Representation in Dakar, Senegal.
