
Ms Stefania Giannini was appointed UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education in 2018. Since then she has strengthened global partnerships, highlighted the importance of 21st century skills education, drawn attention to the role of universities in achieving SDG 4 and affirmed UNESCO’s leadership crafting a collaborative response to COVID-19. She has served as Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia as well as Senator and Minister of Education of the Republic of Italy.
