Penny Mordaunt

Secretary of State for International Development, United Kingdom

Penny Mordaunt was appointed as the UK’s Secretary of State for International Development in November 2017.

She was previously a Minister for the Department for Work and Pensions, and for the Ministry of Defence. She has worked for Conservative Central Office and in 2000 served as Head of Foreign Press for George W. Bush’s presidential election campaign. She worked as an aid worker in post-revolutionary Romania before and during university, and has been a director of Diabetes UK, the Community Fund and the Big Lottery Fund.
