Mame Annan-Brown is Head of External Relations at International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group and the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. Mame is responsible for managing IFC’s global external communications — working with IFC’s senior management as well as with partners such as shareholders, donors, clients and the media. Mame also manages IFC’s brand, online and multimedia strategy, and global events.

Prior to joining IFC, Mame was Head of Communications at IFC Asset Management Company (AMC) where she was responsible for leading the institution’s marketing and public relations, branding, media, and strategic outreach. Prior to AMC, Mame was Chief Communications Officer at global development think tank Results for Development Institute, and Director of Marketing at United to End Genocide,.the largest grassroots advocacy organisation in the US that led the historic movement to demand an end to genocide in Darfur.

Mame also spent 10 years on Wall Street as Vice President in J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank. She developed strategic communications strategies for Investment Bank business heads and executives, particularly during the 2008 global financial crisis and the J.P. Morgan and Bear Stearns merger and acquisition. Mame was educated in the US, Europe and Canada. She holds a BA in Economics from McGill University, and received a Master’s in International Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
