Minister Goddy Jedy Agba was appointed as Minister of State for Power in 2019. He has had an extensive career in the civil service prior to joining politics. He worked at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) from 1995-2014 where held several positions and rose to become head market research, crude oil marketing department and later became the head gas/gas liquids/condensate sales, GGLU Crude Oil Marketing Department in 2014. Prior to joining the NNPC, Mr. Agba worked in the Federal civil service from 1985-1995. Over his civil service career, he worked as a senior assistant secretary to the Federal Development Authority, personal assistant to the Minister of special duties and later Minister of foreign affairs. He holds a degree in international studies from the Ahmadu Bello University and a master’s degree in international law and diplomacy from the University of Lagos. He was awarded the   national honour of Officer of the Order Federal Republic (OFR) in 2012.
