Emily Weedon Chapman is a Senior Human Development Economist in the Middle East and North Africa region at the World Bank.  Her focus includes research and policy guidance on the intersection between human capital and climate change.  In her pervious assignment, Emily managed nearly US$1.5 billion in lending through the cross-sectoral Enhancing Shared Prosperity through Equitable Services and the Ethiopia Social Accountability Programs in Ethiopia.  Her career at the World Bank has also included working with the Human Capital Project (HCP) and the Social Protection and Jobs (SPJ) Global Practice.  She was task team leader of the SPJ portfolio in Zambia and on early childhood nutrition analyses and policy dialogue in Southern Africa. She has focused on qualitative research around productive economic inclusion throughout her career.
