Elizabeth Howton is the Senior External Affairs Officer for the World Bank’s Poverty and Equity Global Practice and the Fiscal Policy and Sustainable Growth unit. Her assignments since joining the Bank in 2012 have included working with the infoDev program and as the Global Web Editor. Her experience prior to the Bank includes 10 years as an editor at the San Jose Mercury News in California’s Silicon Valley. She holds a bachelor's degree from Stanford University and a master's degree from George Washington University and was a Knight Science Journalism Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
