Elisabeth Mealey is the Communications Lead for the World Bank’s Energy and Extractives Global Practice. In this role, she works to build a greater understanding of the World Bank’s work to end energy poverty and to ensure transparency and good governance in extractive industries operating in developing countries.
Before joining the Energy and Extractives Global Practice, she worked in the Environment Department of the World Bank, focusing on climate change, natural resource management and natural capital accounting communications. She also worked for six years in the World Bank’s East Asia and Pacific region on issues ranging from air quality in China to health and education in Cambodia and energy in Lao PDR.
Before joining the World Bank, Elisabeth worked at different times in Australia, Europe and the Pacific Islands as a journalist, speech writer and communications officer for civil society organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and a Master of Arts in International Communications from Macquarie University, Sydney.
