Dorte Verner is a Lead Economist in the Agriculture and Food Global Practice focused on Africa with the World Bank. She works on socioeconomic development, including food security; jobs; climate change; and the fragility, conflict, and violence agenda. Dorte has more than 30 years of experience developing knowledge and projects worldwide. Previously, Dorte served as the Principal Economist at the IADB, where she led the evaluation of climate change. Before joining the World Bank, Dorte worked as a researcher in the OECD, the European University Institute, and Paris I, and as an innovator in the private sector in São Paolo, Brazil.  She has published in peer-reviewed journals and produced books and reports on development issues. Final, Dorte is a Fellow in the Explorers Club and an award-winning Economist and Photographer. Dorte loves learning from people all over the world, including about their lives, livelihood, and the food they eat and produce.
