Anshula Kant was appointed Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Financial Officer on October 7, 2019. She is responsible for financial and risk management of the World Bank Group, reporting to the President. Kant has more than 35 years of experience at the State Bank of India (SBI), including retail and corporate banking, mortgage finance, local currency and foreign exchange instruments. As the SBI’s Chief Financial Officer, Kant managed $38 billion of revenues and total assets of $500 billion and focused on the bank’s long-term sustainability. A native of India, Kant earned an economics degree from Lady Shri Ram College for Women and a master’s degree in economics from Delhi School of Economics.
