Will Martin is a senior research fellow with the International Food Policy Research Institute, where his main interests are agricultural trade policy, poverty reduction, and the environmental impacts of agricultural support. Before joining IFPRI in 2015, Martin spent nearly 25 years at the World Bank, where he headed a research team on agriculture and rural development for six years. His analysis of the 2007-08 food price shock was influential in shaping the World Bank’s policy response to this crisis. He earned degrees in agricultural economics at the University of Queensland, the Australian National University, and Iowa State University.
