As a Senior Advisor to the Minister of National Development Planning for Social Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Vivi Yulaswati’s main responsibility is to do analysis and advise the minister on social and poverty reduction-related issues and strategies. She also leads the National Secretariate for Sustainable Development Goals.
She has long experiences in designing major poverty reduction programs in Indonesia, including Community Driven Development, Conditional Cash Transfer, and subsidy reforms. She has made major contributions to the development of the National Social Security System, National Strategy for Financial Inclusion, big data for public policy research in Global Pulse Initiative, Government to Person (G2P) payment, as well as integrated service and refferal system for comprehensive Social Protection.
She holds PhD in Planning and Development from the University of Southern California (2004), Master in Urban and Regional Planning from University of Wisconsin-Madison (1999), and bachelor’s degree from the University of Indonesia (1991) and has taken many courses in social protection, financial inclusion, evaluation, change management, and digital transformation.
