Tarek Ghani is the Chief Economist and Future of Conflict Program Director at the International Crisis Group. Tarek is an Assistant Professor of Strategy (on leave) at Washington University’s Olin Business School and a Nonresident Fellow of the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution. From 2006-2009, he oversaw conflict prevention grants at the private foundation Humanity United. He has worked with the Center for Global Development, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, the United States Institute of Peace, and the World Bank. He holds a doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley.
