Prof. Tanja Miščević, is the Head of the Negotiating Team for the Accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union and an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade.
Before that she was the Director of the European Integration Office of the Government of Serbia, a member of the Negotiating team for Stabilization and Association Agreement negotiations, and Head of the Negotiating Team for the Readmission and Visa Facilitation Agreement between Serbia and the EU. During 2011 and 2012, Ms. Miščević served first as Advisor to the Minister of Defense, then as State Secretary for Defense Policy at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia. Previously, she was a member and Vice-President of the Board of the Anticorruption Agency. Prior to her appointment as Head of the Negotiating team, she served as Special Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for foreign trade in Serbian Government.
As an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Belgrade, Ms. Miščevic teaches International Organizations, the UN System, EU Enlargement Policy, and the History of European Integration. She is the author of three books and many articles on the theory and practice of the functioning of international governmental organizations and the EU. She received "Contribution of the Year to Europe” award in 2006, “The best European of the Balkans” award and the "Rainbow" award for promotion of LGBT rights and the fight against homophobia in Serbia in 2014. Ms. Miščević is also Vice-President of the European Movement in Serbia.
