Srujani Shrawne is the Co-Lead of the Youth Summit Pitch Competition for the 2023 World Bank Group Youth Summit; and has served as the Event Design Co-Lead for the 2022 conference. Srujani was part of the WBG Youth delegation at the Y20 Indonesia pre-summit 2022 on diversity and inclusion, where she shared her views on the importance of locally led efforts to address regional challenges.
She has a background in Environmental Engineering and Renewables and works as an Environmental and Social Development Professional at the International Finance Corporation, World Bank Group (WBG). Her role involves supporting new business decisions and monitoring select IFC portfolio investments in line with IFC Sustainability Policy.
Before joining IFC, Srujani worked as a Global Sustainability Professional for a FMCG, working directly with teams from 35+ countries, working on sustainability reporting, external disclosure, climate change, renewables, data management and systems, human rights, and EHS.
Srujani has co-founded a COVID-19 relief initiative in response to the second wave of Covid in India, providing medical resources, free doctor consultations, workshops, fundraiser verification, and access to mental health resources to a large community. Srujani was awarded by UNHCR representatives for her proposed solution for mechanism on financial independence in refugee camps at a Harvard University Conference.
As a champion of impact investing and local leadership, Ms. Shrawne has been invited on several occasions to take part in global conversations; namely, she has moderated a discussion on ESG for business for a Kumpul Industry Expert session and was a panelist at the Carlo Schmid Program, focusing on leadership in uncertain times.
