Sheila Redzepi is Vice President for External and Corporate Relations at the World Bank Group.
Sheila oversees all aspects of communications and public affairs in support of the Bank’s mission to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity. She also manages the Bank Group’s strategic presence in donor countries, and oversees its multilateral engagements. In this role, Sheila advises the President and senior management on brand, reputation, media and employee communications as well as stakeholder and community relations decisions.
Sheila joined the World Bank Group from Unilever, where she held several positions notably Global Vice President, Sustainability Policy and Advocacy and Vice President, Communications and Sustainability, Europe. She worked alongside Unilever's CEO and executive on engagement with industry platforms and non-profits and oversaw the implementation of sustainability and purpose led agenda in Unilever’s Europe region.
Before joining Unilever, Sheila worked at Weber Shandwick, a global public relations firm, based in the United Kingdom, United States and Europe and most recently held the position as Director of Corporate Communications and EMEA region Head of Social Impact.
In 2017 Sheila was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
A Danish national born in the former Yugoslavia, Sheila earned her Masters of Philosophy in Media Studies from the University of Bergen, Norway, a Master of Arts in International Political Economy, and a Bachelor of Arts in Modern History and Politics from the University of Sheffield, U.K.
