Raaga Akkineni is the Co-Lead of the Pitch Competition for the 2023 World Bank Group Youth Summit and had volunteered for the 2022 World Bank Group Youth Summit. Raaga works as a Research Analyst in the Development Economics Vice Presidency and has contributed to the 2022 World Development Report and the 2021 Global Findex database. Her interests include financial inclusion, financial resilience, and equitable recovery. Raaga joined the bank in 2021 and holds a Master of Arts degree in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics from New York University.
Prior to joining the bank, Raaga worked with Khaana Chahiye foundation based in Mumbai, India with their Hunger Map project during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project aims for a policy-based intervention to identify and provide aid to critical pockets in the city by engaging active civil society participation along with coordination with the local government infrastructure.
