Nicholas Padgalskas is the Chief Financial Officer of Summit Power International, which is the largest Independent Power Producer in Bangladesh. Prior to joining Summit, he was an Executive Director in ABN AMRO’s Asia-Pacific Energy team in Singapore and previously worked at Citigroup’s Energy Investment Banking division.
Nicholas has an MBA from the Sloan School of Management, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy.
Summit Power operates about 18 power plants with total capacity of 2,255 MW, utilizing advanced combined-cycle gas turbine technology. The company is developing further power and infrastructure to support energy-security in Bangladesh, and is expanding regionally in South Asia and Southeast Asia, in both domestic and cross-border energy activities.
In 2016, IFC, along with other co-investors, invested $175.5 million to finance Summit Group's power projects in Bangladesh, helping the Group add significant electricity-generation capacity to the country’s national grid.
