Maria Thomas is a consumer Internet pioneer who has helped build some of the most recognizable brands in the digital landscape. She's the former CEO of Etsy (NASDAQ: Etsy) and the former CCO at SmartThings (acquired by Samsung, 2014). In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Maria was a product leader at Amazon.com. Subsequently, she was the driving force behind NPR’s successful transformation from a radio-only company to a best-in-class, multi-media enterprise. Earlier in her career Maria worked in finance on Wall Street and for the World Bank's private sector arm, IFC. Today, Maria is an expert advisor, Board member, and angel investor focusing on helping larger companies navigate digital transformation and helping startups build lasting businesses.
