Kavya Kopparapu is a passionate AI Thought leader, accomplished innovator, social entrepreneur, and a rising Freshman at Harvard. As the Founder of her nonprofit GirlsComputingLeague, she was invited to present at the White House. She helped raise $175,000 to the Children Science center 5 years ago. She further partnered with the White House and DC Public schools to teach coding to 3800 students in DC / VA.
Kavya has been recognized by organizations such as the White House, Google, Amazon Web Services, Apple, National Center for Women in Information Technology, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, Amazon Web Services, IEEE, Society for Science & Public, ASEE (American Society for Engineering Education), CONRAD Foundation, NSTA (National Science Teacher’s Association).
She was featured on CNN, ABC News, IEEE Spectrum, Washington Post and thousands of news articles across the world. She is a TEDx speaker, spoke at the March for Science across the White House, at the Amazon AWS conference in front of 10,000 Amazon professionals, in Sweden at the 2017 Nobel Prize Awards, at the Montreal Artificial Intelligence Conference, New York O’Reilly Artificial Intelligence Summit and at the Smithsonian Museum. She was invited to ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange and she also unveiled the USPS STEM Innovation stamp.
Her research in Medicine using Artificial Intelligence won 3rd place at the International Science engineering fair in California, US Presidential Scholar award, Siemens, CONRAD Innovation challenge, WebMD National Hero award, Regeneron Science Talent Search finalist.
She strives towards empowering girls to pursue their passion. She recently held a Artificial Intelligence conference at the Marriott for about 350 high school and middle school students. She was able to raise $27,000 from Amazon / Google and Apple. She is planning to expand her nonprofit next year and has already raised close to $50,000. She plans to host her next AI Summit at Harvard in the Fall of 2018.
