Jostein Nygard, a Norwegian national, is an environmental economist with the World Bank where he has worked on Pollution Management and Environmental Health programs for more than two decades. He has developed the Bank’s methodology applied for Air Quality Management (AQM) in East Asia, particularly in China, Mongolia, and Vietnam, as well as in other regions like Africa, South America, and Middle East, and more recently in South Asia.

Jostein is at present living in Delhi, where he coordinates the Bank’s regional AQM program in South Asia, particularly in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Jostein is educated as an economist from the University in Aalborg, Denmark and Beijing University, China.
