Jeremy Hillman is Director of Corporate Communications at the World Bank Group, the largest funder of development work in the world, with a dual mission to alleviating poverty and increase shared prosperity.
In this role, Jeremy is responsible for external communications and internal employee engagement. That includes digital channels and platforms in six corporate languages, governance, media relationships and partnerships, and supporting the WBG senior management, including the President.
Jeremy joined the World Bank Group in 2014 from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, where he was the Director of External Communications. At the Bill and Melinda Gates, Jeremy worked in the fields of global health and development and US education and led a talented, international, multi-disciplinary team responsible for the foundation's digital platforms and its media profile and reputation. He also regularly worked with the foundation's co-chairs Bill and Melinda Gates and helped set the overall communications strategy and success metrics for the organization.
Before joining the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2011, Jeremy performed several senior management roles in television and radio at the British Broadcasting Corporation. At BBC, he led the business, economics, and technology journalism channels and was responsible for running the newsroom for the BBC's global commercial news channel BBC World News. As a journalist, he covered many of the defining news stories of the last two decades.
In addition to his current work at the World Bank, Jeremy Chairs the Inspired Leadership Award, a nonprofit organization that recognizes emerging leaders driving positive change on a global scale. He also serves as a Board member of the Little Free Library organization.The Little Free Library is a nonprofit group that looks to inspire reading in communities and foster creativity in the neighborhood where members install them, to share free books.
Jeremy Hillman holds a diploma in Broadcast Journalism, a law degree from Bristol University and an MBA from Henley Business School.
